I fear, too, that it would spoil my love of reading.Book Utopia Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17735284948363798601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588948403345843201.post-35456474763855095812008-04-19T08:29:00.000-07:002008-04-19T08:29:00.000-07:00Have you ever thought about being an editor?Have you ever thought about being an editor?Gabrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10454728060393937293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588948403345843201.post-11614706221772975562008-04-04T17:04:00.000-07:002008-04-04T17:04:00.000-07:00I know I'm hugely picky about errors in the text, ...I know I'm hugely picky about errors in the text, so it could be that I noticed things that the judges didn't. In this story's case, it was missing words. Usually prepositions, the occasional possessive. Those are harder to catch because a lot of people skip right over them when they're reading. At least it wasn't spelling mistakes and huge things like that.

And the exclamation point overuse is a personal icky thing for me. I hate them. I don't mind a couple scattered throughout a story, but too many makes it look like overcaffeinated text messaging. But I know that's a me thing.Book Utopia Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17735284948363798601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588948403345843201.post-12130697731093756452008-04-04T16:55:00.000-07:002008-04-04T16:55:00.000-07:00You touched on upon the editing issue. I was happy when she won, though. Hopefully it was the best story that won.clear skieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00304174697110279615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588948403345843201.post-14803711112596287122008-04-04T15:21:00.000-07:002008-04-04T15:21:00.000-07:00It just proves different strokes for different fol...It just proves different strokes for different folks. What's a bugaboo for me isn't for others. Or maybe the judges had read the other stories in the series and that colored their opinions. Who knows?Book Utopia Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17735284948363798601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588948403345843201.post-74967526893459464452008-04-04T14:39:00.000-07:002008-04-04T14:39:00.000-07:00I am a fan of the authors, but this isn't somethin...I am a fan of the authors, but this isn't something I'd read. Your review touches on everything I don't like to read about. Funny though, the author won a EPPIE award for this story.clear skieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00304174697110279615noreply@blogger.com
